Duru Önhon
Duru Önhon was born in 2006 in Istanbul, Turkey. She started her violin education in 2013 at Istanbul Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory. She worked with Prof. Dania Kainova to improve her artistry and enhance her repertoire.
In 2018, Duru has been accepted to Prof. Marta Abraham’s violin class in Franz Liszt Music Academy’s Young Talents School and still continuing to study with her. She attended the masterclasses of Cihat Askin, Dora Schwarzberg, Anna Dzialak Savytska, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Ani Schnarch, Alexander Markov, Yair Kless, Mincho Minchev, Igor Tkatchouk, Lutsia Ibragimova.
Duru won many prizes in various national and international competitions in her age category as follows;
2019 – 4. Danubia Talents International Music Competition – 1.st Prize
2018 – 5. Ede Zathureczky National Violin Competition – 2.nd Prize
2018 – 2. Ilona Feher International Violin Competition – 1.st Prize
2017 – 27. Barletta International Music Competition – 1.st Prize
2016 – 14. Individualis International Internet Music Competition – 2.nd Prize
2016 – 7. Premio Crescendo International Music Competition – 2.nd Prize
2015 – 40. Nedjalka Simeonova International Violin Competition – 3.rd Prize
2015 – Serbian Music Pedagogues International Internet Music Competition – 1.st Prize
In 2019, Duru performed as soloist in the Young Talents Day in the Great Hall of the Zeneakademia with Academy Orchestra. In addition to her musical training at young talents school, she is also attending at Bartok Bela Gymnasium of Franz Liszt Music Academy as 9. Grade student.
